IMPACT accepting applications for Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program
IMPACT Community Action Partnership has opened applications for the 2025-26 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, which runs from Oct. 1 through April 30, 2026. Priority applications are being accepted this month for households with elderly residents aged 60 or older or those with a member who has a disability, with all other income-eligible households eligible to apply starting Nov. 1. The federally funded program helps low-income Iowa homeowners and renters in Boone, Jasper, Marion, Polk and Warren counties pay a portion of their primary heating costs. Eligibility is based on factors such as household income, size, dwelling type, and fuel source, with qualifying annual gross income limits set at 200% of the federal poverty level, ranging from $31,300 for a single-person household to $108,300 for an eight-person household. More information and applications are available online at impactcap.org or by calling 515-518-4770.
