Initial jobless claims fell last week
The number of people applying for first-time unemployment benefits last week dropped from the previous week.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics announced today that initial jobless claims dropped to 377,000, an improvement over the previous week’s 389,000 claims.
The weekly moving average, a less-volatile index that shows more of a general trend, increased, though, up 1,750 to 377,750.
