The cities of West Des Moines and Clive are seeking public input on the redevelopment plan for the University Avenue Corridor. Located between 22nd Street/Northwest 86th Street and Interstate Highways 35/80, this stretch of University Avenue is a long-standing center for retail and office within the Des Moines-area. However, over time, changes have occurred along the corridor resulting in vacant store fronts. The cities are studying ways to redevelopment the area. To obtain the community’s input and help guide decision-making and prioritization for this plan, West Des Moines and Clive have set up a project website with a series of engagement exercises that will be open to the public through June 30. The public can also take part in a mapping activity by sharing thoughts on what areas of the corridor are like and what areas need improvement. A short survey is also available.
