The Iowa Dental Association installed Dr. Shawn Hedlund of Iowa City as its 163rd president on April 29 during its Annual Session held in Des Moines. Hedlund is a University of Iowa College of Dentistry graduate and longtime practitioner at Melrose Dental Office. He has previously served as University District trustee and treasurer for the association. Four new trustees were also installed to the IDA Board of Trustees. The North Central District elected Dr. Stephanie Nettleton (Mason City), the Northwest District appointed Dr. Karl Koelling (Kingsley), the Southeast District appointed Dr. Mary Wettach (Mount Pleasant) and the Waterloo District elected Dr. Anne Hennessey (Cedar Falls).
