Iowa expected to add 4,800 restaurant jobs this summer
Iowa restaurants are expected to add 4,800 jobs this summer, a 5.2 percent increase over the March 2012 employment level, according to projections from the state and nation restaurant associations.
Historically, the restaurant industry is the nation’s second-largest creator of summer jobs, trailing only the construction industry.
Nationally, the restaurant industry projected an average 4.6 percent increase in summer jobs. Iowa’s restaurant industry ranked 26th in the nation in projected summer job growth.
