Iowa gas prices dip slightly
Average gasoline prices in Iowa fell 4 cents over the past week to $4.19 per gallon, according to AAA. Though prices remain $1.30 higher than a year ago, Iowa sits below the current national average of $4.51. Retail diesel prices in the state also declined by 4 cents to $5.36 per gallon, still well above last year’s $3.30 but 30 cents lower than the national average. Meanwhile, crude oil prices moved sharply higher, with West Texas Intermediate rising $7.35 to $102.37 per barrel and Brent crude increasing $4.86 to $106.80, both significantly above year-ago levels of $65.04 and $66.93, respectively. Additionally, natural gas prices are up 16 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.88 MMbtu. The full weekly fuel report is available online.
