Three executives recently filled key positions with Des Moines-based Iowa Health System.

Katie Marchik, Iowa Health System’s new vice president of finance, formerly served as director of finance for Trinity Regional Health System in Rock Island, Ill. Her background also includes working in public accounting with McGladrey & Pullen LLP. Marchik helps manage Iowa Health System’s fiscal responsibilities, including long-term budgetary planning and cost management.

Cheryl Ritter, Iowa Health System’s director of business planning and development, formerly served as vice president and chief financial officer of Skiff Medical Center in Newton. She also has 11 years of strategic planning and financial experience through her work at Maytag Corp. Ritter will help implement Iowa Health System’s strategic plan and assess the potential viability of opportunities to expand or develop services.

Cathy Ross has been named administrative director in charge of managing HealthNet Connect, a 3,200-mile fiber-optic network capable of electronically connecting health-care facilities throughout the Midwest. She previously served as co-founder and president of Baker Communications Inc. in Des Moines.

“These talented individuals bring extensive knowledge and experience that will assist our health-care providers throughout Iowa and western Illinois,” Iowa Health System President and CEO Bill Leaver said in a press release.
