Iowa Juneteenth has announced a series of events across the Des Moines area in June, featuring community, cultural, and recreational programming leading up to Juneteenth on June 19. The lineup includes the “Embrace the Race” 5K on June 7 at Raccoon River Park in West Des Moines, a Juneteenth Soiree on June 15 at Palms Restaurant and the Juneteenth Jubilee on June 18 at the State Historical Building highlighting community recognition and youth awards. On June 19, a golf outing will be held at Topgolf Des Moines, followed by a free Neighbor’s Day Celebration on June 20 at Western Gateway Park, offering live entertainment, local vendors, and family-friendly activities.
