The Iowa Medical Society recognized nine physicians, health professionals and organizations at its 2026 IMS Awards, presented April 17 during the 177th annual President’s Dinner in Iowa City. The organization gave out its Five Physicians to Watch awards, recognizing their emerging leadership. Other awards given during the event include:

• Dr. Craig Bottke of Great River Health, IMS/Copic Humanitarian Award for volunteer medical service.
• Lance Clemsen of University of Iowa Health Care, John F. Sanford Award for non-physician contributions to health care.
• Coralville Community Food Pantry, Washington Freeman Peck Award for community impact.
• Dr. Marta Van Beek of University of Iowa Health Care, IMS Merit Award for service to the profession and the organization’s mission.
