Nonprofit Many Hands, which is based in Pella and has thrift markets located across Iowa, has launched its annual “Give Joy” campaign fulfilling practical needs for families in Haiti and the Bahamas. The initiative’s catalog includes tangible gifts such as safe homes for $6,000, concrete floors for $500 to reduce illness risk or $100 contributions that cover wedding essentials for young women in need. The campaign concludes on Dec. 31. “For families in Haiti, they don’t need toys or gadgets. They need a path to health and stability,” Tim Brand, CEO of Many Hands, said in a prepared statement. “The Give Joy campaign is about more than just giving money.
