County-level pork producer organizations can receive up to $1,000 from the state association that they can use to purchase locally sourced pork to donate to local food pantries. In 2025, 50 county organizations participated, donating more than 75,000 servings across the state. Donations to local food pantries will be made through March 31. “Food insecurity remains a real challenge for many Iowa families, and Pork in the Pantry is one way pig farmers can make a meaningful difference close to home,” IPPA president and pig farmer Dean Frazer said in a prepared statement.
