Jason Kerndt has been appointed market president of Home State Bank’s Polk City branch, the bank announced. Kerndt brings 23 years of banking experience and will support the bank’s continued growth in Central Iowa while its main branch remains based in Jefferson. “We’re excited to welcome Jason to the Home State Bank team and look forward to his leadership in our Polk City market,” Bob Allen, president and CEO of Home State Bank, said in a prepared statement. Kerndt has been active in the communities he serves, including as past president of West Polk Rotary, and as a volunteer with Dorothy’s House, Freedom for Youth, Habitat for Humanity and Can-Do Cancer. He has also served in board leadership roles with the Dallas Center-Grimes Education Foundation, Holding Tiny Hands and Johnston Economic Development.
