Koedam to succeed Teigland at Calvin Community
Calvin Community in Des Moines announced that Carl Koedam has joined the Des Moines nonprofit senior community as its president and CEO. He will succeed Mark Teigland, who will retire in November after 10 years of service in the position. Koedam, most recently was administrator of Trinity Center at Luther Park in Des Moines, began at Calvin Community on Oct. 15 and will transition with Teigland prior to his last day on Nov. 16. Koedam has previous experience both as a nursing home administrator and assisted living administrator, and began his career as an accountant. He has an accounting degree from Iowa State University and is currently pursuing an MBA at Drake University. An open house is scheduled Nov. 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. to say goodbye to Mark Teigland and to wish him the best in his retirement.
