Leadership class completes House of Mercy home
The Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute’s Class of 2012 has completed its six-month project of planning and building a home for House of Mercy.
The Leadership Institute’s project was to construct a $180,000 home to be used as one of House of Mercy’s permanent residences.
House of Mercy provides housing for women seeking alcohol and drug treatment, transitional housing and eventually permanent housing.
The class will host a ribbon cutting at the home at 4:45 p.m. on May 22, followed by a reception from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Mercy Auditorium – East Tower, 1111 Sixth Ave., featuring music by Tony Bohnenkamp.
