Grimes’ Planning and Zoning Board approved a site plan for Lincoln, Neb.-based Linweld Inc.

The air-separation facility will produce argon, oxygen and hydrogen for medical and industrial use. The 24-hour facility will create eight new jobs.

The plant will be located on Lots 8 and 9 of Grimes Industrial Park. The main building of the complex will be 23,000 square feet.

Jim Gocke of Handley, Block, Lamberti and Gocke PC, and spokesman for the company, would not release construction costs or the date Linweld plans to break ground on the new facility.

The company said this will be the first facility of its kind in the state.
