Kyle Wegner, Supply Chain General Manager at The Weitz Company, has been named chair of the 2026 Central Iowa Heart Walk, where he will lead a regional initiative with the American Heart Association to expand CPR education and engage local employers in building a “community of lifesavers.” The event, scheduled for June 6, 2026, at DMACC’s Ankeny Campus, aims to raise funds for research and training while promoting CPR confidence, as only 39% of Americans report feeling highly capable of performing the skill. The effort supports the Association’s Nation of Lifesavers movement, which seeks to double out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survival rates by 2030.
