Des Moines Public Library business book pick: “The Burnout Epidemic: The Rise of Chronic Stress and How We Can Fix It” by Jennifer Moss.
Why you should read it: Journalist, author and workplace culture expert Jennifer Moss’ 2021 timely book explores how leaders and individuals can create healthier, happier and more productive workplaces – even as the zeitgeist focuses more and more on the concept of “burnout.” To solve the problem, Moss argues, organizations must focus less on things like self-care and resilience, and more on creating practical strategies.
