Marsh & McLennan revenue up 7 percent in second quarter
Global professional services firm Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. reported consolidated revenue in the second quarter of $3.7 billion, a 7 percent increase compared with the year-ago quarter. Net income attributable to the company was $531 million, or $1.04 a share, up from 96 cents per share in the prior year. In the first six months of the year, the company achieved 4 percent underlying revenue growth on a consolidated basis and 11 percent adjusted earnings per share growth, excluding the impact of a new revenue standard. Dan Glaser, president and CEO, said in an earnings release that he was pleased with the company’s performance and that it is “well positioned to deliver underlying revenue growth in the 3-5 percent range, margin expansion and strong growth in adjusted earnings per share in 2018.”
