McQuillen named Clive city manager

118 wordsAll Latest News, Government Policy and Law, On the MoveMatt McQuillen has been named Clive city manager, effective Jan. 20 after the retirement of Dennis Henderson, who has served the city for 22 years. McQuillen, who has been assistant city manager in Clive since 2011, was selected from a field of 40 candidates following a regional search by HR OneSource, according to a release. Before going to work in Clive, McQuillen worked in Ankeny in a variety of positions since 2005, leaving as assistant to the city manager when he took the Clive position. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration, both from Iowa State University. He received the 2013 Emerging Leader Award from the Iowa City/County Management Association.
