Meals from the Heartland is hosting a packaging event on on Jan. 19 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Volunteers will gather to package meals that will be shared with children and families facing food insecurity, both in Iowa and across the Midwest. In addition to an all-day packaging event at the Meals from the Heartland Patty Cownie Packaging Center, volunteer packaging opportunities will also be available at the Polk County River Place and the Courtyard by Marriott Omaha Bellevue.
