Meeting to discuss relief for flooded homeowners

The city of Des Moines will hold a public meeting for the owners of 59 properties in the Four Mile Creek 100-year flood plain and other 100-year flood plain areas that sustained substantial damage from the August flooding.

The city has identified 59 single-family homes that meet eligibility requirements for a proposed FEMA Voluntary Flood Buyout Program. The meeting will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Goodrell Middle School, 3300 E. Ninth St.
