Merit Management Group, a Johnston-based private equity firm that owns and operates businesses across the trades and home-service industries, announced the acquisition of two Central Iowa companies. First, Merit has acquired Metro Heating & Cooling, a Des Moines-based HVAC provider founded in 1984, adding to its network of HVAC companies. Merit has also recently acquired Dorrian Heating & Cooling in Waukee and Heartland Heating & Cooling in Grimes. Merit also acquired Swan Creek Cabinetry, a Boone company known for its handcrafted cabinetry and millwork. Swan Creek is the second custom cabinetry company acquired by the firm.
