Microsoft beats analyst’s estimates
Microsoft Corp., the world’s largest software maker, reported a fiscal third-quarter profit that topped estimates, Bloomberg reported. Net income slipped to $5.11 billion, or 60 cents a share, from $5.23 billion, or 61 cents per share, a year earlier, the company said today.
Analysts had predicted an average of 57 cents in profit. Microsoft benefited from robust corporate purchasing of Office productivity programs, Windows 7 operating systems and software for servers.
