Orchard Place announced that its 2018 Moonlight Classic raised more than $110,000, a new fundraising record for the Des Moines nonprofit that serves children with emotional and behavioral challenges. Nearly 600 cyclists, more than 100 volunteers and dozens of corporate sponsors helped to make the annual 13-mile evening ride a success. Proceeds from the event fund Orchard Place Summer School, which serves all 88 children who reside at Orchard Place Campus, as well as other programs and services that will serve nearly 10,000 children this year. In addition to sponsoring the event, Sammons Financial Group took home the Moonlight Cup for registering the biggest team, 145 cyclists.
