More people use phones as coupons
Mobile phone bar code scanning experienced rapid growth in the fourth quarter of 2010, according to Mobile Commerce Daily.
A Scanbuy Inc. report showed that consumers used mobile phone bar code scanning for coupons, prices and nutritional information 1,600 percent more in 2010, and growth doubled in the fourth quarter from the rest of the year.
Scanbuy officials estimated 15 to 25 million people in the United States use mobile bar code scanning on a regular basis.
