Deb Moyer, chief nursing executive at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines, has received one of nursing’s top honors, the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award. The recognition showcases Moyer’s continued service of promoting a positive image of the nursing profession throughout her 42-year career. Moyer, who during her tenure at UnityPoint Health has presented 77 DAISY awards to fellow nurses, received the lifetime achievement award at a recent surprise ceremony with hospital leaders and several of her nursing colleagues. She will be retiring on Friday. Lifetime Achievement Nurses are nominated for the award by their peers. Under her leadership as CNE, registered nurses in leadership roles increased markedly, attributable in part to Moyer’s commitment to building and supporting nurse leaders. “Deb Moyer signifies everything that is good about the nursing profession,” said David Stark, president and CEO at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines. “Deb’s leadership and commitment to our hospitals will be a lasting legacy for decades to come.”
