Newspaper company posts large revenue declines Lee Enterprises Inc.’s revenues declined in January as a result of lower traditional classified, retail and national advertising revenues, reported the Associated Press.

Same-property revenues for the Davenport-based newspaper owner fell 3.6 percent to $87.6 million from $90.9 million in January 2006. The company also reported that retail advertising slipped 4.5 percent to $33 million, national ad sales fell 11.8 percent to $4.9 million and classified advertising dropped 6.2 percent to $23 million.
