Nominations accepted for Iowa Latino Hall of Fame
Nominations are now open for the 2021 Iowa Latino Hall of Fame. According to a news release, nominations will be accepted until July 1. The Iowa Latino Hall of Fame was created by the Iowa Commission of Latino Affairs in 2017 with the goal of recognizing and celebrating the efforts of Latino leaders in the state. Each year the commission inducts up to three Latinos, plus a recipient of the Iowa Latinx Youth Leadership Award, a recipient of the Robert D. Ray Award for Equity and Justice, and a recipient of the Iowa LGBTQIA Leadership Award. The awards will be presented at the Iowa Latino Hall of Fame induction ceremony during Latino Heritage Month, Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, which celebrates Latino heritage, culture and contributions.
