North Central Bancshares Inc., appointed Paul Bognanno as its new CEO on July 1. Bognanno will also serve as CEO of the First Federal Savings Bank of Iowa effective July 1. North Central is the holding company for First Federal.

Bognanno began serving on North Central’s board of directors in 2005 and joined the company as senior executive vice president in February 2007. He previously worked at Principal Financial Group and lives in Des Moines.

North Central had more than $515 million in assets as of December 2006.
