156 wordsBusiness Record Insider, The Insider NotebookDoug Habgood became the new director of the Principal Charity Golf Classic in August. In talking to the Business Record about his new role, golf and managing all the details of a big sporting event, he mentioned he is a bit of a Sunday morning chef for his three daughters. His specialty: pancakes.
“I like to add some interesting ingredients based on what I can find. It’s seasonal.”
Some standouts:
Peeps, as in the little sugary Easter-time treats. The results? “It was interesting.”
Fruit. Take care; raspberries can get messy
Chocolate seems to be a favorite. Nutella gets high marks, as do chocolate chips. “One time I changed out the milk with chocolate milk.” The end result was a smoky flavor.
“There’s trial and error,” Habgood admitted.
His pancake-making is serious enough that his daughters know he’s open for 30 minutes on Sundays and they made a sign for him to have in the kitchen.
