Des Moines is one of 10 cities that are joining the City Energy Project, a joint initiative of the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Institute for Market Transformation. The two-year project will look for ways to make buildings more efficient. That is expected to boost the local economy and cut pollution, city officials said.
