What initially sparked your interest in your current field or industry?
My career began more than 20 years ago in commercial real estate development with Kum & Go and the Krause Family. From the very beginning, I was energized by the opportunity to bring land to life, taking an idea and a site and shaping it into a place that serves people and strengthens a community. There is something incredibly meaningful about seeing a project move from concept to reality and knowing it will have a lasting impact.

After the sale to Maverik and several years spent integrating the organizations, I made the decision not to relocate. That choice ultimately led me to McClure. What drew me to the firm was how closely its values align with the way I approach development. McClure’s vision of making lives better and its mission of building relationships for success reflect the belief that great projects start with listening, trust, and long-term partnership. Joining McClure allowed me to apply my development experience across a wide range of projects while working alongside clients to transform ideas into places that create value for communities for years to come.

Who or what has had the most influence on your leadership style?
It really does take a village. I have learned from many leaders throughout my career, sometimes by observing what works well and other times by learning what not to do. My parents had a significant influence on me, along with several leaders at Kum & Go, including Kyle Krause. Over time, I have come to better understand my own leadership style and to lean into being my authentic self.

Early in my career, I tried to model what I thought leadership was supposed to look like, always confident, and highly directive. In reality, I am a servant leader. I believe in building trust first, creating space for vulnerability, and empowering others to lead. That approach aligns closely with McClure’s culture, where collaboration, humility, and shared success are central to how we lead teams and deliver results for our clients.

What are you most excited about in the next 12-18 months?
I am most excited about McClure’s continued growth and momentum over the next 12 to 18 months. What differentiates McClure is our entrepreneurial mindset and our ability to think beyond individual disciplines to deliver integrated solutions that create real value. Grounded in our vision of making lives better, we start by listening and taking the time to understand each client’s goals, challenges, and constraints. From there, we bring together the right expertise to move projects forward. With more than two decades of experience in real estate development, I am energized by the opportunity to pair that perspective with McClure’s deep technical capabilities and collaborative approach to help clients navigate complexity and bring their visions to life in ways that positively shape our communities.

What kind of advice would you offer someone earlier in their leadership journey?
Seek feedback and be genuinely open to it. One of the hardest and most valuable lessons I have learned is that strong leaders do not feel the need to have all the answers. Leaders who stay curious, remain vulnerable, and are open to learning tend to grow faster and build stronger teams. When you ask thoughtful questions, invite honest input, and lead with a growth mindset, people trust you more, and that trust leads to better outcomes. At McClure, we value leaders who learn continuously, adapt quickly, and focus on developing others, because that is how we create lasting impact for our clients and the communities we serve.
