Daniel Zinnel, who announced earlier this week he will step down after seven years as CEO of Proteus Inc., will be the next CEO of Orchard Place, an Iowa-based provider of children’s mental and behavioral health services. Zinnel’s appointment is effective Aug. 1. According to a news release, his career has focused on improving health care and human services access for marginalized communities, with prior roles including executive director of One Iowa and earlier work with Lutheran Services in Iowa. Zinnel also serves on multiple health care and nonprofit boards and has contributed to professional training in leadership and inclusive care. “Daniel’s personal connection to this work, combined with his deep commitment to accessible mental and behavioral health care, makes him an exceptional leader for Orchard Place,” John Danos, president of the Orchard Place board of directors, said in a prepared statement. “His collaborative approach and passion for serving children and families align strongly with our mission and vision for the future.”
