The Wall Street Journal Online reported that the Pappajohns bought the piece at the annual Art Basel Miami Beach fair “before the fair even opened.” They are in the process of assembling a permanent sculpture display in Western Gateway Park.

The sculpture depicts a seated figure made of letters. Artist Jaume Plensa told the Journal that he faintly modeled the work after a position his son often sits in. Plensa, who lives in Barcelona and Paris and works around the world, also created the Crown Fountain in Chicago’s Millennium Park.
