Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Group announces new organizational structure

Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Group, an Algona-based provider of commercial property and casualty insurance for pharmacies and specialty health care service providers, has announced a new organizational structure following its transition to a mutual holding company. This structure, effective Jan. 1, includes two specialized branches: property and casualty insurance carrier and agency operations. The property and casualty company, operating as Pharmacists Insurance Co. and Chiron Insurance Co., will manage underwriting, claims, risk management and distribution partnerships. Alison VanOtterloo will lead as division president. PMC Advantage Insurance Services Inc., the group’s national independent insurance agency, will continue to deliver tailored insurance solutions across health care, commercial lines, farm/ag, life and health and personal insurance. Brian Rakers will serve as division president. “This announcement marks an exciting new chapter in our ability to provide truly expertise-backed risk management solutions for all facets of [our] client base,” Aaron Pearce, group CEO of Pharmacists Mutual, said in a prepared statement.
