Pleasant Hill Mayor Sara Kurovski has been named one of the National Academy of Public Administration’s 250 Champions, a national recognition honoring public servants for exemplary leadership and community service. The 250 Champions initiative selected honorees from hundreds of nominations representing every U.S. state and territory. Kurovski, Pleasant Hill’s first woman mayor, was recognized for her commitment to professionalizing city operations, engaging residents and fostering collaboration, including during the city’s response to the April 2024 EF-2 tornado. The honorees will be celebrated at an event preceding the ICMA National Conference in Philadelphia on May 12. The full list of awardees is available at  localgov250.org.
