Bank of America announced it has selected the Polk County Housing Trust Fund as its 2025 Neighborhood Builder for Iowa, recognizing the organization’s work in expanding affordable housing in Polk County. Through the program, the housing trust fund will receive a $50,000 grant over two years, executive leadership training, and access to a nationwide nonprofit network. The funding will support the fund’s new Housing Opportunities for Preservation and Expansion Initiative, which aims to preserve single-family homes, grow multifamily housing, and advance workforce development in the building trades. “We are grateful to Bank of America for supporting these new programs that will address the lack of affordable housing in Polk County by tackling the issue locally and utilizing a grassroots approach,” Toby O’Berry, executive director at the Polk County Housing Trust Fund said in a news release.
