Polk County’s tax sale set for June 27
Polk County will be selling the delinquent property tax bills on 2,832 properties on June 27 at the Airport Holiday Inn’s Iowa Room. In the annual, fast-paced auction, bidders can buy (and pay) the delinquent taxes after one month and 14 days. The buyers of the tax earn 1.5 percent interest per month until the property owner pays them off. You can find more information here or call 286-3060. This year the county has fewer parcels with delinquent tax bills. There are 180 fewer parcels than last year. The amount owed is $4,449,470, down a million from $5.5 million.
