Right Management Consultants ranked 16th in Fortune magazine’s annual list of the 100 fastest-growing companies in America, which was published in the Sept. 1 issue. The Philadelphia-based career transition and organizational consulting firm, the largest in the world with more than 300 locations, established an office in West Des Moines eight years ago.

“This is a gratifying validation of our strong competitive position, our ability to help our clients manage the human side of change and our commitment to sound business fundamentals,” said Richard Pinola, chairman and CEO of Right, in a written statement.

Zacks Investment Research in Chicago compiled the list, which is based on earnings growth, revenue growth and total investment returns. Fortune magazine annually surveys publicly traded U.S. companies with at least $50 million in revenues.

Right Management Consultants’ earnings doubled in fiscal year 2002 on revenue growth of 48 percent. Officials said Right services 80 percent of Fortune 500 companies and 50 percent of Fortune 100 companies.

Sharon Vickery, vice president of Right’s Iowa office, said her firm works with a number of large, medium-sized and small companies throughout the state with global ties. She said the recognition should help the firm as it looks to increase business in Eastern Iowa.

“It’s good for us on a local basis, because we are well-known internationally and nationally,” Vickery said. “It shows our local clients we are a major player globally.”
