RISE money approved for Aviva access
The Iowa Transportation Commission today approved a Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy grant application submitted by the city of West Des Moines to assist in grading and paving approximately 1,300 feet of Mills Civic Parkway and 2,730 feet of Cascade Avenue. The requested improvements will provide access to the proposed Aviva USA corporate campus and areas with potential for future industrial development west of the campus.
The application was approved as a RISE Immediate Opportunity grant for up to $1,911,600 and a RISE Local Development grant for up to $1,636,000, for a total of $3,547,600. Funding for the grant comes from the city’s share of the RISE fund.
The proposed Aviva USA corporate campus is expected to lead to the creation of 672 jobs and capital investment of more than $133.6 million.
