Schroder tapped as Urbandale’s community development director

Rose Schroder has been hired as director of community development for the city of Urbandale, the city announced. Schroder replaces Steve Franklin, who recently retired. Schroder most recently served as Johnston’s community development director. She has also worked in similar roles for the cities of Council Bluffs and Pleasant Hill. Schroder, who began her new role on Jan. 20, has a bachelor of science degree in regional planning from Iowa State University. She will be paid $148,218 annually.
