The Science Center of Iowa’s annual fundraising event and auction has been renamed “SCI’s Big Blast.” The event, which raises more than $200,000 annually to support SCI’s mission and operations, is celebrating its 20th year and will take place on Aug. 24. The event will feature live entertainment by Marc Bailey and DJ Cosmo, catered cuisine and signature cocktails, along with live and silent auctions. Tickets for SCI’s Big Blast go on sale June 21. They are $125 per person; $225 for two. After Aug. 1, ticket prices go up to $150 per person; $275 for two. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 515-274-6868 ext. 223.
