The Science Center of Iowa announced a $250,000 donation today from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to support the first-ever scenario change at the Science Center since opening in May 2005.

“Toying with Science,” which opens to the public March 11, is the new theme for the When Things Get Moving experience platform, one of six themed exhibit areas at SCI.

Bank of America Iowa President Deon Pitsor presented the grant to SCI President & CEO Mary Sellers while more than 50 eighth grade students visited SCI to test the new exhibits.

Over the past several years, Bank of America has donated more than $100,000 to SCI to support educational initiatives and programs.

The ongoing scenario changes were planned when creating the new facility, to continually engage and inspire participants with new experiences while connecting to current and emerging science and technology. SCI said in the news release that it is the only museum in the country known to have implemented this type of change.
