Southridge owner among buyers of Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza

83 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentThe Macerich Co., owners of Southridge Mall and a mall owner and operator with its roots in Central Iowa, will buy the upscale Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Mo., along with Taubman Centers Inc. for $600 million, according to a release. Taubman and Macerich will each have a 50 percent interest in the center and will share management. Country Club Plaza is a 15-block, 1.3-million-square-foot retail and office district that was developed in 1922 on what at the time was swamp land.
