Iowa Workforce Development has announced nine grant recipients for the 2026 Summer Youth Internship Program. Nine projects across the state will receive a total of $250,000 to help serve nearly 200 youths in internship experiences. Awarded projects will offer internship opportunities in areas such as health care, information technology, advanced manufacturing, skilled trades and more. Funds may cover participant wages, training resources, materials and administrative costs. “I applaud the work these programs are taking on to build meaningful opportunities in our workforce, and we’re excited to see how these awards will help accelerate and strengthen recruitment efforts for the summer,” Beth Townsend, executive director of Iowa Workforce Development, said in a prepared statement.
