The Iowa Department of Economic Development recently issued its first six-month report detailing activities of its new Innovation and Commercialization Division. Authorized in 2007 by the Legislature, the division has awarded nearly $2 million out of $6.9 million in funding this fiscal year to projects to further develop the targeted industries of advanced manufacturing, biosciences and information solutions.
