Nearly $3 million was invested in Iowa STEM Council projects in 2017-2018, the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council announced at the end of December. Support over the year included a $200,000 Department of Labor ApprenticeshipUSA grant to Iowa Workforce Development, assigned to the STEM Council’s pre-apprenticeship program; a $54,000 Iowa Department of Natural Resources grant for the STEM Council’s Resource Enhancement and Protection Conservation Education Program; and nearly $500,000 invested in the STEM Council by 64 corporate partners in Iowa.
