Don’t we all make this choice when preparing our summer reading list: mind candy or economic reports from the Iowa Legislative Services Agency? Around the Business Record, we opt for the latter, seriously. Here are some suggestions, contained in a release from LSA, which acknowledges that its list is “neither light nor popular. However, it is important reading for informed citizens.” LSA’s economic trends list is updated every month and includes a wide range of topics. This month, for example, there have been updates on household employment, nonfarm employment, farm commodity prices, new vehicle registrations, unemployment claims, the Iowa Department of Revenue Index and the Philadelphia Fed State Index. “All will make interesting summer reading,” LSA said. Click here to get on the list.
