A recent survey found that 73 percent of Iowa businesses are using broadband Internet services throughout the state, and small businesses using the service saw twice the revenue of those without it, according to Connect Iowa, a nonprofit advocate for broadband adoption.
Amy Kuhlers, project manager for Connect Iowa, said in a release that $2.9 billion in annual sales revenue in Iowa comes from online sales. Based on a survey of 804 Iowa businesses, Connect Iowa estimates businesses using broadband services generate on average $300,000 more in revenue than non-broadband companies each year.
