Technology Associations honors top innovators
Top technology innovators and entrepreneurs were honored at the seventh annual Prometheus Awards last night, hosted by the Technology Association of Iowa (TAI).
In Greater Des Moines, winners were Brad Rasmussen, senior vice president and chief information officer of GeoLearning Inc., as CIO/CTO of the Year; Dwolla Corp. as small/medium Technology Company of the Year; and Submittal Exchange LLC as Clean Technology Company of the Year. Dave Sengpiel, senior investment manager at Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, and StartupCity Des Moines were also recognized for investing in Iowa’s future.
The ceremony followed a Pitch & Grow event held by TAI in which 16 technology start-up companies pitched their ideas to experts. Go the Distance Baseball LLC was the winner, and Johnston-based Bawte Inc. was second in the Pitch & Grow.
